Beautiful One...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONPlqLTRBI0&feature=related
Wonderful, so wonderful
Is your unfailing love
Your cross has spoken mercy over me
No eye has seen no ear has heard
No heart could fully know
How glorious, how beautiful you are.

Beautiful one I love you
Beautiful one I adore
Beautiful one my soul must sing.

Powerful so powerful
Your glory fills the skies
Your mighty works displayed for all to see
The beauty of your majesty
Awakes my heart to see
How marvelous how wonderful you are.

Beautiful one I love you
Beautiful one I adore
Beautiful one my soul must sing.
Beautiful one I love you
Beautiful one I adore
Beautiful one my soul must sing.

You opened my eyes to your wonders anew
You captured my heart with this love
Because nothing on Earth is as beautiful as you
You opened my eyes to your wonders anew
You captured my heart with this love
Because nothing on Earth is as beautiful as you are.

Beautiful one I love you
Beautiful one I adore
Beautiful one my soul must sing.
Beautiful one I love you
Beautiful one I adore
Beautiful one my soul must sing.

And you opened my eyes to your wonders anew
You captured my heart with this love
Because nothing on earth is as beautiful as you are.

"How To Be Jesus" Post #1

Today in chapel Evan Simmons, the Youth Minister from Hillcrest Church of Christ, came and talked to the high school. He told us about how we should help others. I have been thinking about this for a long time, and i have come to the conclusion, based on personal experience, that all people want is for someone to listen to them. It can make the difference in someones life if you talk to them and listen to what they have to say. Everyone has a voice, and they want someone to hear it. So i am challenging all who read this, including myself, to be Jesus for someone and take time out of our day just to listen to someone else. You never know when you are going to make a positive impact on someone.

"But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness." - Hebrews 3:13

Dreaming...

Today i was in a shop just looking around. I needed to get cashback from a purchase so that i could tip my waitress tonight. I ended up buying a band that said "DREAM." Tonight i was thinking "What are my dreams?" I came up with the  conclusion that i have 2 dreams:

  1. That someday I will find someone that will love me for who i am. Not because of looks or talents, but because when they look at my heart, they see something beautiful.
  2. That everyone in the world would respect one another. We will never have peace, but we can still respect each other, even if we dissagree on certain topics.
What are your dreams?

Only Grace

Today was a turning point in my life. We all know of the struggle that i have had these past couple of weeks with some of the people in my class. Well today, in study hall, i was listening to pandora radio, and "Only Grace" by Matthew West came on. I realized that God loves those people in my class just as much as He loves me. We are all equal in His eyes. "Theres only grace...only love." We may be different people, but together we are one in Christ. Each day we have a new begining, and we should make the most of it. I have realized that it is my job to show them what Christ is truly like; to show them that GOD IS LOVE. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKL0QB-_ho0

Superbowl = SUPER EXPENSIVE

So tonight was the world famous superbowl. I want to take the time to list some figures about the superbowl. Now, before you read on I must tell you that I am in NO way criticizing the superbowl or condeming it. I am merely stating some figures to open up the reality of the superbowl. Here are some figures that list the money issues of the event:
  1. $2.8 million: Cost for a 30-second advertisment slot during the game.(http://www.treehugger.com/files/2010/02/super-bowl-by-the-numbers.php)
  2. $400 million: Amount of money added to the local economy because of the game
  3. $5.6 billion: Amount consumers will spend on Super Bowl related items.
  4. The average american will spen $118 on food and other suplies for the superbowl. (http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/business/115133974.html)
Thats interesting to think about. $2.8 million dollars for 1 ad. 1 AD!!!! I guess on the plus side $400 million dollars is added to the economy because of it.

  1. It cost $2500 to feed a child in the U.S. for 1 year.
  2. It costs $1.00 to feed a child in Africa for a week.
When I read those figures it stirred up something inside of me. To think that corporations have a ton of money lying around for a 30 second advertisment, yet there are children and people around the world dying daily because apparently we dont have any extra money lying around.  Just something to think about. Some of you after reading this might think im a hypocrite. Well, im not, because i support beg events in japan instead of in the U.S, so i am just as guilty.

Group Time...

So last summer i asked myself the question "Why is everyone so unresponsive in group time?" We all expierience this. The awkward silence after the youth leader asks a question as some ponder the question, others devolp their own ideas around it, while other people goof off and dont even pay attention. So why is it that sometimes we are unresponsiver. At first i came up with the answer that we dont want to be embarrased in front of our friends. But as time goes on i have realized that that becomes less true. I love every single person in my youth group. Everyone of them adds a unique trait and i dont feel awkward talking to them about most things. So why do i not speak up. I think it is because i am afraid of getting the answer wrong. I dont want to face the pain of knowing that i cant think. I want to have time to develop on a topic and then speak up about it. What do you think? How do you usually react in group time?
